A public adjuster handles claims for homeowners who have suffered damages to their homes. Adjusters are independent and advocate for the policyholder in appraising and negotiating a claimant’s insurance claim. A public adjuster must be licensed in the state where the damaged property is located and therefore can legally represent the rights of an insured during an insurance claim process.
