The Chorong lantern has been designed by Hyejin Cho as an illuminator inspired by the very Korean lanterns that it shares a name with, but positions itself as a decidedly modernized alternative. The lantern is build around a frame that extends upwards to reveal a handle, which is wrapped with a translucent material to give the overall piece a bag-like look. The interior reveals a bulbous illuminator that will shine light brightly outward to work well for livening up a space with a touch of crisp lighting.
The Chorong lantern is built on a steel base and powered by a rechargeable battery to further reinforce the industrial nature of the decor piece. The light identifies how traditional decor can be modernized to keep it relevant with today’s consumer.
